Lexical field or Medan Makna is a set of interrelated senses based on conceptual field that is the lexemes are interrelated in sense. They are incompatible each other.
for example: Colour >> red, green, black, white, etc.
Animal >> horse, cat, dog, etc.
All members of a semantic field should cover the entire spectrum. the basic term's meaning is not included in the meaning of any other term.
A basic term is the dominant of a subsystem. the differences then between basic terms and members of the subsystem is the frequency of use or general lexeme to specific.
